FIVE

Today our little man turned five. I never imagined time could fly so fast. I can remember every detail of when Mason was born almost down to the smells and sounds. He was worth the three hours of pushing and 24 hours in labor. I never imagined that I could ever love anything as much as I love Mason and I know I speak for his daddy as well.
Mason you light up our lives. You are so smart and inquisitive. So sweet and thoughtful. So rowdy and purely boy yet when asked what colors you wanted your birthday boy crown to be you promptly replied "dark pink and purple". You are very funny and your giggle is the best sound. Thank you for making mommy and daddy so proud everyday. We can't wait to continue to watch you grow and continue to evolve into your own little person.

Some of your favorite things as of late:

  • Skylanders (obsessed is a better way to describe this)
  • you love to ride your scooter (razer) and are really good at it
  • You love to say "I have something for you" followed by giving a hug
  • you tend to make up stories and then reply "no it's really true it is"- when you get called out for "lying" you say "I was just telling a joke"
  • you love to sing along to the radio and I have learned very quickly I need to be a little more selective about what we are listening to
  • you love sushi- and you are very brave at trying new foods
  • you love Jesus and love having your Children's Bible read to you
  • you also love the old classics Herold and the Purple Crayon, Goodnight Gorilla, and are now reading BOB books
  • you are very smart and your teachers at school in pre-k say you are more than ready to start kindergarten (which will happen in the fall tear, tear)
  • You are obsessed with superheros, Avengers, Incredible Hulk, Star Wars, etc
  • you still will take naps
  • you learned to ski this year and you loved it.... mommy and daddy got you golf clubs for your birthday so that's next

We love you to the moon, to heaven, and to a "google plex" (since you said the moon and heaven weren't far enough).
Love, Mommy and Daddy
